Pindari Glacier Trek

The Pindari glacier is located in Pindar valley. It is lies between the Nanda Devi and Nandakot Peaks at an altitude of 3627 mt. The Pindar Glacier is about 3 kilometers long and is fed by the South-Western slope of the Outer wall of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary. River Pindar , one of the main tributaries of the River Alaknanda , originates from this glacier The trekking route runs along the southern wilderness of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary and is bordered by beautiful landscapes and breathtaking views of heights like Panwali Dhar (6683m) and Maiktoli (6803m).

Day 1: Arrive Kathgodam - Song/Loharkhet :

Arrive at Kathgodam than drive to reach Song which is a small picturesque village by covering approx 260 kms in 08 to 09 hrs.

Day 2 : Loharkhet/Song - Dhakuri :

Trek to reach Dhakuri by crossing Dhakuri Pass (2800 mt). Trek leads through very steep and dense forest. Dhakuri has a beautiful Meadow.

Day 3 : Dhakuri - Dwali

Morning after breakfast start trekking (15 km) to reach Dwali. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.

Day 4: Dwali - Phurkia :

Morning after breakfast start trekking (5 km) to reach Phurkia. Today"s trek is short and an easy one. Arrive Phurkia and overnight stay in tents/Guest house.

Day 5: Phurkia - Pindari Glacier – Phurkia

Morning after breakfast start trekking (4 km) to reach Pindari Glacier which is also called as Zero Point. After lunch trek down to reach Phurkia. Arrive and overnight stay in tents/Guest House.

Day 6: Phurkia - Khati :

Morning after breakfast start trekking (15 km) to reach Khatii. Arrive and overnight stay in tents/Guest House.

day 7 : Khati - Bageshwar :

After breakfast trek down to reach the Loharkhet.Than Drive to reach Bageshwar which is also a holy places.Overnight stay in Hotel.

Day 8 : Bageshwar - Kausani - Nainital :

Early morning visit the ancient Baganath temple which is dedicated to lord Shiva.After breakfast proceed to Nainital vaya Kausani.Overnight stay in Hotel.

Day 9 - Derparture from Nainital :

Early morning after breakfast depart for the onward destination.

How to reach Kathgodam :

By Road :

Kathgodam is connected by good roads to all the major national & state highways. It takes about 6 hours to travel the distance between Delhi & Kathgodam (290 Kms).

By Train :

Kathgodam is connected with all the major railways junctions. By Air : The nearest airport is Pantnagar (50 Kms) but presently, flights are not operational daily from that airport. The next nearest airport is Delhi (290 Kms.).
