Day 01: Shimla - Sarahan
Arrive at Shimala than drive to start Jeep safari to reach Sarahan (1920 M) via Narkanda (2690 m) by covering approx 183 kms in 7 hrs. It is located amid mountains with towering Srikhand Mahadev (5155 M) as a backdrop.
Day 02: Sarahan - Rekonpio - Kalpa
Morning start safari to reach Kalpa (2759 m) via Rekonpio (2758 M) by covering approx 95 kms in about 5-6 hrs. Kalpa lies in rain shadow region close to Tibetan border at the confluence of Spiti and Sutlej rivers. This area is known for wood carvings and grapes. Kalpa offers very good vew of Kinner Kailash mountain range & mount Raldang.
Day 03: Kalpa - Nako - Tabo
In the morning start safari to reach Tabo via Nako. A short drive after Kalpa 50-60 km we visit village Puh over looking the valley. Walk along Mani walls to visit the New Monastery and the old Gompa. Afterwards drive back and stop for Lunch. On reaching Nako village which is a beautiful village situated at a height of 3662 Mtr, we take a short walk and visit the cluster of Old Monastery complex, later photo stop at Nako Lake. By evening arrive at Tabo and check-in at Guest House / hotel for overnight stay.
Day 04: Tabo
Visit TABO CHOSKOR, a compound of around 9 small and large halls with magnificent paintings and murals. Dating back to 1000 AD onwards, these were created under the supervision of the great Tibetan Translator Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo. Tabo that time became an important centre of learning. Tabo Monastery is more known as the "Ajanta of the Himalayas" . In the afternoon, proceed for a lovely village walk to see some of the cave shrines which were used by monks who came for learning.
Day 05: Tabo - Lallung - Dhankar - Kaza
Drive to Lallung Monastery, a small tiny village 20 km off the main road, visit the Old Gompa which is still intact in its old charm. After visiting Lallung, dirve to Dhankar. Visit Dhankar Gompa and Dhankar Fort. Located on a cliff, Dhankar was a stretegic point during the early days as it offers a magnificent views of Pin valley and Spiti valley. After visiting Dhankar, drive to Kaza and check-into hotel for overnight stay.
Day 06: Kaza
After breakfast proceed for excursion to Pin Valley. Visit kungri Monastery and villages. In the afternoon visit Ki Monastery (4116 M) and later drive to Kibber village (4400 M) which is among the highest permanently inhabited villages in the world.
Day 07: Kaza - Keylong
Drive (210 km) to Keylong via Kunzum Pass (4551 mt) and Koksar. Enroute stop to take photographs of Bara Shingri glacier (3657 mt). Arrive Keylong (3550 mt) by late evening and check-into hotel for overnight stay.
Day 08: Keylong
Morning after breakfast visit Khardong Monastery at Keylong and also hike to Sahsur Gompa. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 09: Keylong - Rohtang - Manali
Morning start return safari to reach Manali (2050 M) by covering approx 122 KMs in 7 hrs via Rohtang Pass (3980 M). On arrival check into hotel. Afternoon proceed for sightseeing of Manali. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 10: Depart from Manali
After breakfast depart for the onward destinations.
How to reach Shimala
By Air
Shimla's airport is at a distance of 23 kilometers at Jubbarhatti. The Airport is well connected to Chandigarh, Kullu and Delhi.
By Rail
Kalka, located at a distance of 96 kilometers from Shimla is the nearest railhead. From Delhi you can take a train to reach Kalka.
By Road
Shimla is connected by road to all the major towns. It is 120 km from Chandigarh and 370 km from Delhi.
