Shri Gangotri and Yamnotri dham are one of the four sacred dham of Uttrakhand state of India, located in serene and majestic range of northern Himalaya.

Gangotri ji (Alt:3,100m) – is a town in district Uttarkashi of Uttarakhand approx 250 km from Rishikesh is a most sacred Hindu pilgrim site on the banks of the river Bhagirathi (Ganges). The actual source of the Ganges is Gaumukh, a hard 19km climb from shri Gangotri dham.

It is believed that Bhagiratha perform a penance at Gangotri to save his relatives. The Ganges River flows north at this point, inspiring the village's name, Gangotri, meaning "Ganga turned north." As Lord Krishna states in the Bhagavad-gita, "Of flowing rivers, I am the Ganges."

Yamnotri ji (Alt: 3,185m) – This is the place where the holy Yamuna River begins. Yamunotri is located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, perched atop a flank of Bandar Poonch Peak (3615 m) & situated opposite to Gangotri. Yamunotri is located 278 km from Dehradun and 236 km from Rishikesh. During its open season, around 2,000 pilgrims visit Yamunotri daily. According to legend, the ancient sage Asit Muni once had his hermitage here.

Program

Day 01: Delhi to Haridwar (225 Kms. /approx 5 – 6 hrs.)
Welcome to your trip to Gangotri – Yamnotri Yatra. Today morning drive to Mahakunbh city Haridwar. On arrival check-in your hotel. After fresh up and lunch, proceed to enchanting Ganga aarti and worship at har ki pauri. Evening free to scroll the local market. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02: Haridwar – Barkot (230 kms. / approx 7 – 8 hrs)
Today early morning your yatra start to Barkot for Yamnotri. Visit Kempty Falls and enjoy beauty of valley on the way, reach Barkot in the evening. On arrival check into hotel. Overnight stay at Barkot.

Day 03: Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot (Drive 40 kms, & trek 6 kms)
After early breakfast drive for Janaki Chatti (40 kms). Later your journey followed by 6 kms trek upto temple.On arriving the temple get the holy darsan of goddess Yamunotri and pay your worship and and perform aarti to goddess Yamuna and start your most sacred pilgrimage to Char Dhams. Evening return back to hotel at Barcot.

Yamunotri Temple: The temple dedicated to the goddess Yamuna. Yamuna is the daughter of Surya (the sun god) and Sandhya. She is the twin sister of Yamaraja, the “Lord of Death.” If you bathe in her waters, you are spared a painful death.

Day 04: Barkot – Gangotri (170 km/approx 6 – 7 hrs)
After breakfast drive for Gangotri. It is the origin of river Ganga also called Bhagirathi here. On arrival take a holy dip in The Ganges and Perform Pooja and aarti. Later enjoy the breathtaking views of this beautiful valley. Overnight in hotel at Gangotri. Hindus believe that even a single dip in the Gaumukuhi water is sufficient to wash away all one’s sins and fulfill the purpose of the one’s life.

Gangotri Temple - Dedicated to Goddess Ganga, constructed by the Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa in the 18th Century.In this temple the statues of Shri Ganga ji, Yamuna ji, Saraswati ji, Lakshmi ji, Parwati ji and Annapurna ji are present. All articles of Pooja are made up of Gold only.

Day 05: Gangotri – Uttarkashi (100 Km/approx 4 hrs)
Today morning after breakfast your yatra start to Uttarkashi th north Kashi of lord Shiva. On Arrival check-in to hotel. Evening free to scroll the local market. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 06: Uttarkashi – Haridwar (177 Km /approx 7 hrs)
After early breakfast your yatra start to Haridwar. En route see the local fruits market of Chamba. Evening arrive Haridwar. Check-in to Hotel. Dinner and night stay at the hotel in Haridwar.

Day 07: Haridwar – Delhi (210 kms./approx 6 hrs)
After breakfast drive to Delhi. Here your tour ends with happy memories as you drop Delhi railway station/Airport for your onward destination.
