The Himachal Great Traverse 3 Peaks expedition offers a transformative journey through the awe-inspiring landscapes of the Indian Himalayas, spanning 09 exhilarating days from Manali and back. This adventure is meticulously crafted for those seeking not only the challenge of summiting three majestic peaks but also an immersive experience in basic mountaineering, expedition planning, and physical endurance.

Starting from Manali, a picturesque town nestled amidst towering peaks and lush valleys, participants embark on a quest to conquer three formidable summits.

1. Mt. Ladakhi (5345m).
2. Mt. Shitidhar (5294m)
3. Mt. Friendship (5289m)

Throughout the expedition, participants are supported by experienced guides and a dedicated team, ensuring safety and providing insights into the region's rich biodiversity and cultural heritage. Each day brings new challenges, from crossing high mountain passes to setting up camps under starlit skies, fostering a deep connection with the natural environment.

Route: Manali – Dhundi – Bakarthach – Beas Kund – Summit (Mt. Ladakhi, Mt. Shitidhar, Mt.Friendship) – Beas Kund – Manali.

Program

Day 1: Arrival at Manali

Arrive in Manali, meet our Expedition Leader and Team members, explore local markets, maintaining the Check list of personal clothing and stuffs, Expedition briefing by Team Leader. Overnight stay in guesthouse.

Day 2: Manali - Dhundi – Bakarthach

Drive: 22 km

Trek:  5 km (3 hours )

Elevation: 3,280 m

After Breakfast Drive to Dhundi, it almost takes 2hr. Here our Trek starts to Bakarthach. After reaching Campsite fix the Tents and overnight stay under the Stars in Tents.

Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner

Day 3: Bakarthach - Beas Kund (Base Camp)

Trek Time: 07 Hr

Elevation: 3,840 M

Breakfast at early morning and start the trek for Beas Kund, enjoy the Trek with landscape views of Beas Kund. After reaching Camp site help to fix the our Camps. Again overnight stay at Tents.

Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner

Day 4: Acclimatisation and Training Day at Base Camp

 This day is reserved for the acclimatisation. Here you will get the comprehensive introduction to basic mountaineering skills. Participants learn essential techniques such as rope handling, ice axe and crampon usage, and safe ascent and descent practices. Guided by seasoned mountaineers, they gain firsthand experience in expedition planning, route navigation, and decision-making processes critical for successful high-altitude ventures.

Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner

Day 5: Base Camp – Summit Camp

Elevation: 4,655 M

Trek Time: 07 Hr.

After early Breakfast the team will starts the trek to summit camp. Again we will setup our Campsite and enjoy the Dinner and stay in Tents.

Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner

Day 6: Summit Camp – Final Summit attempt – Summit Camp

Elevation: Mt. Laddakhi 5,345M, Mt. Shitidhar 5,294M & Mt. Friendship 5,289M

The Final day of the climbing starts with our breakfast. We will start the summit attempt from camp to Mt. Laddakhi, the highest point(5,345 M) of this Travers Expedition. After first summit The Great travers starts to Mt. Shitidhar and after second summit this great travers goes to our third summit at Mt. Friendship. Now the Travers will back to Summit Camp. With all the memories we will take our Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Summit Camp - Base Camp  

Trek Time: 4 to 5 Hr.

Elevation: 3,840 M

With a fresh morning we will start trek down to Base Camp. The will be easy. Enjoy last overnight stay at camp site.

Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner

Day 8: Base Camp – Dhundi – Manali

Trek Time: 06 Hr

Drive: 22 Hr.

Today is the last day of trekking. After breakfast start trekking down to Road- Head Dhundi and then hope on vehicles and drive back to Manali. Here we will provide you overnight stay at our Guesthouse.

Meal: Breakfast + Lunch

Day 9: Departure at Manali

We will have a farewell here with the Team with some gift from Shikhar Travels for lifelong memories. And departure before 09:00 am.

Inclusion Details

• Accommodation in a Double/Twin room in Guesthouse in Manali as per program.
• Climbing permit and camping and trekking fee
• Mountaineering course certified Trek Leader with First Aid certification.
• Services of English-speaking mountain guide during trekking and climbing
• Services of Cook, Kitchen helper, and camping staff during the trek
• All meals as per above-mentioned program. Food will be served Indian & Chinese Food.
• Accommodation in tents during approach March and at Base Camp i.e. one tent for 2 person.
• Complete kitchen and camp equipment during the trek.
• First aid kit with Oxygen cylinder.
• Two men tents, Sleeping Bag, Mattress, Ice axe, Harness, Carabiner, Climbing rope.

Exclusion

• All current taxes including Govt. the service tax of 5%
• Insurance
• Personal clothing and gears required for climbing by the clients.
• Any kind of insurance (For Insurance You will be Charged)
• Personal expenses such as table drinks, room’s services items, laundry, telephone calls at hotels or tip etc.
• Base Camp and Base Camp to road head by porters/pony service.
• Air Tickets.( You can book with us.)
• Any other service or item which is not mentioned as “Price Includes”

IMPORTANT NOTE:

• Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary, but as this is a climbing expedition in a remote mountain region, we cannot guarantee it. Weather conditions, road conditions, vehicle breakdowns, landslides, river crossings, the availability of Pony/Porter and the health of climbers can all contribute to changes. The Expedition Leader/Guide will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but an easy going nature will be an asset!
• Please ensure your insurance covers you for the heights you are likely to attain and for helicopter rescue as well. When you have chosen, and booked your insurance, please provide SHIKHAR TRAVELS with your Insurers name, their 24 hour emergency telephone number and your Policy number with them. Remember, your insurance is not worth the paper it's written on if we don't know the details and you need their assistance.

General Conditions:

• The prices are on Per Person basis Net to you
• Rates valid till 15 Nov. 2024.
• Upon confirmation of the booking we would require 50% of the total invoice and the balance amount can be paid 60 days prior to the date of arrival.
• Class of travel on trains may change based on availability at the time of booking

Cancellation policy:

Cancellation Charges: Notice of cancellation must be made in writing in the name of Shikhar Travels (India) Pvt. Ltd.For cancellation made 4 weeks prior to the scheduled departure, there will be a cancellation fee of 50% of the invoice. For cancellation made within 4 weeks of scheduled departure, there will be cancellation charge of 100% of the invoice.  

In certain cases, the cancellation policy (including conditions applicable on the advance deposit made/required for holding the reservation) may differ & would be applicable as per the cancellation policy of that hotel / Service provider. This will be charged over & in addition to the cancellation policy.

Unused Services & Refund

No refund will be made for any unused services or other arrangements due to any changes in schedule made by passenger while traveling. However, in certain cases, the refund will be considered as per the policy of the carrier/ hotel/ tour company / or other suppliers used for providing services.

Refund request must be made within 2 weeks of the completion of the trip.

If there are any additional expenses due to bad weather or any other reason beyond the control of the tour operator on account of hotel stay, transportation, and meals etc. extra bill will be raised. Neither Shikhar Travels (I) Pvt. Ltd. nor the participating suppliers/hotels will be responsible for the additional expenses.

Responsibility, Liability, Extra Cost, Prices and Brochure Accuracy - Changes and Errors

All the packages are sold under the business management of Shikhar Travels (I) Pvt. Ltd. and they are in no way to be considered as the principal or operator of the subject services. The right is reserved to cancel or alter any package as conditions require. Neither Shikhar Travels (I) Pvt. Ltd. nor the participating suppliers/hotels will be responsible for the additional expenses due to loss, delay or damage caused by accident, illness, bad weather, strikes/riots, road block etc.

Governing Law

This condition and each term shall be governed by and constructed in accordance with the laws of India without reference to conflict of laws principles and disputes arising in relation here to shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Delhi.
