Ladakh, situated on the banks of the Indus River, is a famous tourist destination. It is also known as Last Shangri-la, Little Tibet, Moon Land or Broken Moon, etc. Apart from the main city 'Leh', some major tourist places like Alchi, Nubra Valley, Hemis Lamyoru, Zanskar Valley, Kargil, Pangang Tso, Kar, and Tso Moriri are located near this area. Beautiful lakes and monasteries, mesmerizing landscapes, and mountain peaks are attractive features here. Common languages spoken in the state include Ladakhi, Purig, Tibetan, Hindi, and English. Ladakh is situated at an altitude of 3500 meters above sea level, between the two major mountain ranges of the world, the Karakoram and the Himalayas. Additionally, the parallel ranges of Zanskar and Ladakh surround the valley of Ladakh.

Program

Day 01: Delhi – Leh (Flight) Morning report at New Delhi
Arrive at the airport to board the flight to Leh.
Upon arrival in Leh (3,500 m), our representative will transfer you to the hotel in Leh, where you will check in with a traditional welcome. Full-day rest is advised for acclimatizing to the high altitude of Ladakh. In the evening, visit Shanti Stupa,a popular sunset spot with a panoramic city view, and then Leh Palace. Later,  drop by the local market in Leh to explore the city. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Shanti Stupa, The idea of building the peace stupa came from the Japanese monk Nichidatsu Fuji. He wanted to bring Buddhism back to India, and that is why he started the establishment of Shanti Pagoda from here. Built in 1991 on a high hill, this stupa offers a panoramic view of Leh. People visiting Leh definitely come to see this stupa. The entire view of Leh City is visible from this place.
Leh Palace: The nine-story palace (Leh Palace) of King Singe Gyal in Leh is a splendid specimen of traditional Tibetan architecture. They were mounted one by one on a high mountain with a steep slope of huge boulders, and by skilled craftsmen, they were cut into nine-story buildings, which, on seeing the rocks of the hill, also seemed to be part of it. Adorned with paintings depicting the life of Lord Buddha, the tightly curved corridors of this palace (Leh Palace) are connected by rooms that have museums of century-old covered paintings, golden sculptures, and swords. This palace (Leh Palace) has 12 There are temples and two Buddhist royal monasteries. To the east of the palace is a wooden lion statue made at its entrance.

Day: 02: Leh – Indus Valley

After breakfast, you will be taken on a full-day guided tour of the Indus Valley, visiting Hemis Monastery, Thiksey Monastery, and Shey Palace. Later in the late afternoon, return to your hotel; the evening is free for leisure. Dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

Hemis Monastery: Hemis Monastery is known as the largest intellectual institution in Ladakh. It is believed that it has existed since the 11th century. The place is also the site of the famous Hemis festival, which is celebrated in June every year. Built in Tibetan style, the monastery has impressive murals (paintings on walls) and a museum with a copper statue of Buddha, silver and gold stupas, Thangka paintings, and many other artifacts. To get a good experience, you can visit the monastery's guest house and stay there. The monastery is 45 km from Leh and is connected to the city by road.

Thiksey Monastery: This massive structure is built on the base of the Potala Palace in Tibet. It is built on the top of the hill, which is about 12 stories and is about 19 kilometers from Leh. There is a 49-foot-tall statue of Maitreya, which is the largest in Ladakh, besides Buddhist relics like ancient thangka, caps, big swords, old stupas, and more. More than 100 Buddhist monks and nuns live here. The structure consists of 10 temples and an assembly hall. Its exterior is painted red, orange, and white. It has become a landmark that is visible from miles away. The view of the flood plains of the Indus Valley has become a convenient place for photographers.

Shey Palace: Shey Palace is situated on a hill 15 km from Leh. Shey Palace is the first residence of the royal family, and it is also the summer capital of Ladakh. There is also a monastery in the palace. From here, you can see the best view of the Indus Valley.

Day 03: Leh – Nubra Valley Drive 120 km / 5 – 6 Hrs
On this day, you are going to drive through the world's highest motorable road, Khardungla. We will start our day with breakfast. Post breakfast, we will drive to reach Nubra Valley via Khardungala Pass (5359 m). On arrival, visit Diskit Monastery, Lachung Temple, and the sand dunes in Hundar, where you can enjoy a ride on the exotic double-humped camel. check in to the hotel, later free for leisure. Dinner and an overnight stay in the hotel.

Diskit Monastery: The Diskit monastery was founded by Chongzem Sireb Zhangpo in the 14th century. The monastery is located in Leh. With the support of 'Tibet Support Group', the monastery also runs a school for Tibetan children. When the Dalai Lama came to India on a few days' visits, he inaugurated the 100-foot-high 'Maitreya' statue located here, which is considered to be the center of attraction of this monastery. The idol was built jointly by the Buddhist Association and the Tourist Office of Ladakh.

Day 04: Nubra Valley - Pangong Lake Drive 130 Km/ 5 – 6 Hrs

Post-breakfast drive to reach Pangong Lake (4,250 m) via Durbuk, Tangste, and Shyok. On arrival, check in to the campsite; post-check-in is free at Leisure around Pangong Lake; witness the amazing color-changing crystal-clear water in the laps of the mighty Himalayas. Dinner and an overnight stay in Pangong.

Pangong Lake: Pangong Tso is one of the famous lakes in Ladakh. It is 134 km long and reaches Tibet from Ladakh, India. The People's Republic of China has two-thirds of the lake. Set amidst a backdrop of blue skies, golden plains, and snow-capped peaks, Pangong Tso Lake seems like a magical world. Compared to other lakes in Ladakh, it has the special feature that, no matter how low the temperature here, this lake is never frozen. Apart from this, this lake is also known for its color change, which makes it a picturesque delight. There are many camping facilities around Pangong Tso. Whenever you travel here, do spend a bit of time on the banks of this lake.

Day 05: Pangong – Leh  Drive 140 Kms / 6 – 7 Hrs

Early in the morning see the Sun rising, later drive to Leh by crossing Chang La Pass (5,358M third highest motor-able road in the world) Upon arrival at Leh, check in to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day: 06: Leh – Sham Valley - Leh

Morning after breakfast, we will go for a full-day excursion of Sham Valley, visit Alchi and Likir Monastery, en route, see the confluence of the Zanskar - Indus Rivers, crossing holy Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and Magnetic Hill, post-visit, return to the hotel, and visit the Hall of Fame in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay.

Alchi Monastery: Alchi Monastery, located in Alchi Village, is the oldest monastery in Ladakh. Situated on the banks of the Indus River, this monastery is also known as Alchi Choskher and Alchi Gompa. The monastery is believed to have been built between 958 and 1055 by Rinchen Zangpo, who translated intellectual texts from Sanskrit to Tibetan. The specialty of this monastery is that it is built on flat land.The building of this monastery has three temples: Do-Khang, Sum-Tzek, and Manjushree Temple. Their history dates back to the 12th and 13th centuries. There are two other temples located in this monastery: Lotswa La-Khang, or translator's temple, and La-Khang Soma temple. The chorten, or stoupa, built at the entrance of the monastery is also a special structure here. Currently, the monks of the Likir monastery oversee this gompa. Photographing is prohibited here and due to lack of electricity, tourists are required to bring torches, etc.

Day 07: Leh – Delhi (By Flight)                  

Morning, after breakfast, checkout from the hotel, transfer to Leh airport, and flight back to Delhi.

  • Upon confirmation of the booking, we would require 50% of the total invoice and the balance amount can be paid 30 days prior to the date of arrival.
  • We reserve the right to cancel the tour in absence of deposit/balance/final payment.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Charges: Notice of cancellation must be made in writing in the name of Shikhar Travels (India) Pvt Ltd.

For cancellation made 60 prior to the start of the tour, there will be a cancellation fee of 25% of the invoice. For cancellation made within 60-30 days of the start of the tour, there will be a cancellation charge of 50% of the invoice. For cancellation made within 30 days of the start of the tour, there will be a cancellation charge of 100% of the invoice.

In certain cases, the cancellation policy (including conditions applicable on the advance deposit made/required for holding the reservation) may differ & would be applicable as per the cancellation policy of that hotel / Service provider. This will be charged over & in addition to the cancellation policy.

Unused Services & Refund

No refund will be made for any unused services or other arrangements due to any changes in schedule made by passenger while traveling. However, in certain cases, the refund will be considered as per the policy of the carrier/ hotel/ tour company / or other suppliers used for providing services.

Refund request must be made within 2 weeks of the completion of the trip.

If there is any additional expenses due to bad weather or any other reason beyond the control of the tour operator on account of hotel stay, transportation, and meals etc. extra bill will be raised. Neither India Travel Pvt. Ltd. nor the participating suppliers/hotels will be responsible for the additional expenses.

Responsibility, Liability

All the packages are sold under the business management of India Travel Pvt. Ltd. and they are in no way to be considered as the principal or operator of the subject services. The right is reserved to cancel or alter any package as conditions require. Neither India Travel Pvt. Ltd. nor the participating suppliers/hotels will be responsible for the additional expenses due to loss, delay or damage caused by accident, illness, bad weather, strikes/riots, roadblock etc.

Governing Law

This condition and each term shall be governed by and constructed in accordance with the laws of India without reference to conflict of laws principles and disputes arising in relation here to shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Delhi.
