Descriptions
Shining brightly and high above the white thunderous clouds, Mount Kun is perched slightly at a lower level than its neighboring peak, Mount Nun. These two lofts and snow-covered peaks together form the gigantic Nun-Kun massif in the upper Suru Valley, located on the Indian side of the Line of Control in Ladakh. Mount Kun stands at a towering elevation of 7,077m above sea level and is like a stepping stone for all those mountaineers who are wishing to climb 8000+ someday. Apart from a memorable experience, to the south of Mount Kun lies Kishtwar National Park, where you get to catch glimpse of various wildlife animals of the Himalayas like mountain deer, argali, snow leopard, etc.
The Mount Kun expeditions let you wander among the wilderness of the Himalayas for 23 days and give you a perfect experience to remember for a lifetime. To conquer this massive mountain, one has to have some prior technical mountaineering knowledge, like how to use ice axes, crampons, and the rope-up procedure. Moreover, the experienced mountaineers are also very well familiar with the expedition demands; they are being trained to be mentally and physically fit to withstand all the challenges during the summit.
Once you reach the top of Mount Kun, you will get a surreal view of many other notable peaks like Karakoram Range, Kashmir Valley, Ladakh Valley, Nun Peak, and Zanskar Range. And the gorgeous view will itself vanquish all your tiredness and past worries.
Our experienced team of mountaineers and tour guides at Himalayan Holidays carry out these expeditions every year and fulfil the dreams of thousands of mountaineers. If you are also planning an expedition to Mount Kun in the near future, then you are welcome to go through our specially customized itinerary, which also lets you witness the beauty of Leh.
We suggest you go through our specially customized itinerary for more information.
