Descriptions

If you are looking for Best Mt Everest Base Camp Trek Package 2024 with lowest prices then your search ends here. Himalayan Holidays is a leading Adventure Travel Operator in India located in Delhi.

One of the most famous destinations in the world, Everest has allured us as kids when we learnt about it in Geography class and as adults.

While people trek here in all seasons, the ideal period to come here is between March to mid-May or September to mid-November. During winters, the weather is extremely cold and the snow can pose as a challenge. Also, lodges at higher altitudes might be closed due to the weather because of which it is important that you carry along camping equipments like tents and extra warm clothes for the freezing nights! In summers, it is a little wet and the snowy peaks are hidden behind clouds. Hence, April and May are proved to be the best times to trek here. The blossoming of trees and shrubs only adds colour to the pristine white beauty of this place. A post-monsoon trek provides cleaner dust-free views than pre-monsoon treks.

Before trekking in this area, it is compulsory to visit the ‘Trekker’s Information Management System’ (TIMS). Some areas, like the Khumbu region, only accept Nepalese currency.

This trek requires preparation and some of the key things you should be carrying are: Hiking boots, warm clothes, jackets, UV sun-block, soft and light shows (a.k.a Kung-fu shoes), water disinfecting drugs (found in Kathmandu) with which you can treat the water you fill in your water bottles from nearby streaks, lakes, and rivers.

In the meantime, we come across another suspension bridge, this time over the Bhote-Koshi river. Next, you will finally reach the small river of Monjo and after a 20-minute climb where we will find some interesting water mills. Your trekking permits will be checked here – the officials here will keep a record of all the trekkers going ahead. After a gradual walk, you will reach Namche Bazaar.

DAY 04: Namche Bazaar:
This day is for acclimatizing ourselves to the high altitude and climate. Namche Bazaar provides amazing views of the Kwangde peak and it is also a good place to shop. You can also take a short walk to the headquarters of the Sangmatha national park. There is a local museum which has details of the history of Himalayas – the geography, mountaineering history, flora, fauna and cultural aspects. Overnight stay in guest houses.

DAY 06 : Tengboche to Dingboche. Altitude: 4,400m/14,435ft, Walking Distance: 11km (6 hours)
PAfter breakfast, we will set out on a forest path with trees like birch, juniper, fir, rhododendron, etc, towards Dingboche. On our way we will come across a place, Deboche which, at an altitude of 3,650 meters will give us a sweeping view of Mt. AmaDblam, Mt. Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse. The trail ahead is uphill until we reach a large mani-wall gate from where there are two paths that take us to Dingboche. One of them goes through Pangboche and we can choose this to soak in more natural beauty. Our destination, Dingboche is a lovely and quiet place surrounded by stone walls which protect the agricultural fields from cold winds and grazing animals. Overnight stay in guesthouses.

DAY 07 : Dingboche
Today we will spend our day in Dingboche – a place which is full of greenery due to all the farms and crops like barley, buckwheat, and potatoes. Our main aim is to acclimatize ourselves to the weather and the altitude. One can take short walks around the village, have some great tea at the cute tea houses, or even do a 3-4 trek to a Chukung, a place within the Imjatse valley at 4,730 meters. Though the trek is easy-going, you will begin to feel the thin air around you. There are some tea-houses with a spectacular view at Chukung too. From here, we will return to Dingboche and stay in our guesthouses overnight.

DAY 08 : Dingboche to Lobuche Altitude: 4,900m/16,076ft Walking Distance: 11-12 km (6-7 hours)
We will mark the start of our day by trekking towards the north. The first 40-50 minutes will be an easy walk and we will reach a mani-prayer stupa by then. Next, we will go slightly down towards the village of Pheriche. On our way, Mt. Tawache, Ama Dablam, Nuptse and Pokalde, which are approximately 5,741 meters towards the north will be our constant companions. The next 2 hours will be of pleasant walking, till we reach a small wooden bridge over the river of Khumbu glacier, which will take us to Thugla, the only place to have tea houses before our destination, Lobuche. After relaxing a little here, we will commence a strenuous 3 hour trek to Lobuche. Overnight stay in guest houses.

DAY 09 : Lobuche to Gorakshep to EBC and back to Gorakshep. Altitude: 5180m/16,994ft (Gorekshep) & 5364m/17598 (EBC) Distance of walking: 15km (6-8 hours)
After almost a week of trekking, we are finally close to our destination. Today will be the most adventurous day of the trek and will certainly give you best travel experience, ever. We will start with a gradual 1 hour walk up to the valley and a grassy field. Another 20 minutes of walking will take us to rocky moraine dunes. As we go on, we will spot the icy-glacial ponds and icebergs lying below the Khumbu glacier. We will soon reach Gorakshep. The next part of the trek which will take us to the Everest Base Camp is a strenuous climb – everyone must follow the lead Sherpa as the trails towards the EBC keep changing every season due to the glaciers. After 7 hours of trekking, you will reach your destination and some of the best sights you will ever witness in your life await you here. A grand view of the Khumbu ice fall is one of the only magnificent views you will experience. After soaking in the unearthly beauty of this place, we will head back down to Gorakshep. Overnight stay in guesthouses.

Gorakshep is a wonderful place to explore – it used to be the base camp for trekking the Everest in the 1950s and also has a couple of tea houses. Sipping tea at that altitude in the Himalayas is something you will do probably do only once in your life. Today, we also plan to head up to Kalapathar. The trek from Gorakshep to Kalapather will begin with a few minutes of easy walking on the sandy fields which will soon turn into a 45-minute steep climb. After the tiring trek and strenuous mountaineering, you will welcome the comfort of walking on level fields for the next hour, with open arms. Post this, there is a steep trek again which will take us to the top of Kalapathar. As you get to the top, a surprise awaits you – the view of the Mt. Everest is closer than you can ever imagine and you will be mesmerized by its beauty. We will then head back to Pheriche.

DAY 11 : Pheriche to Namche bazaar. Altitude: 3,440m/11,284ft Distance of walking: 13-15km (7-8 hours)

Once we reach the ridge, we will follow a stream which flows towards the Pheriche valley. A 40-minute walk will take you to the valley floor from where we will take an easy 1-hour walk to reach Pheriche, at 4,243 meters. After this, we will trek down the slope to Namche Bazaar. We can also take a small walk in and around the Sagarmatha National Park – an ideal place for clicking pictures. Then, we will trek from Namche Bazaar to Phakding, an easy downhill walk dotted with the beauty of forests, distant mountains, many waterfalls, etc. Next, we trek towards the Hillary suspension bridge and then pass through many local villages, to finally reach Lukla. This is your last chance to be at a tea-house and is the night you party with your trekking group – for reaching a place most others only dream of!

DAY 13 : Fly back Lukla to Kathmandu. Altitude: 1350m/4428ft Flight time: 35 min
We will wake up early in the morning and catch up an early flight to Kathmandu as the winds can be too strong for flights during daytime. The take off from Lukla will give you a magical view of the surroundings and 45 minutes later, you will arrive in Kathmandu. Try to grab a window seat!
